The cultural organization “The Giostra of Zakynthos – Giostra di Zante” will hold the Giostra event this year during the Holy Spirit’s three days, from June 14 to 16, 2019. (equestrian competitions of skill). Horsemen, Dominions, Knights, and Drummers take part in spectacular festivities. For the first time in Archery, Archers will compete this year.
For more than a decade, the cultural association “Giostra di Zante ” has been committed to reviving this event, which has taken place in Zakynthos since the middle of the 17th century, with consistency, seriousness, and quality, contributing to the island’s cultural development, preserving historical memory, and promoting the island’s economic development and tourism.

Presentation of delegations
An evening will follow with songs from the “Ionian Wave” by Mr. Timotheos Arvanitakis & dances by clubs from Zakynthos, Kefalonia & Ithaca.
Saturday, June 15 – Plateau of Saints Saranda
19:30 – Parade of groups of children from Giostra
The procession will cross the streets: Alexandrou Roma – L. Dimokratias – ending Solomos Square.
20:15 – Conducting a children’s Giostra
Following are events by Juggler, archery by T.O.Z. “Artemida”, acrobatic shows from the “Zakynthos Olympiad” & period dances from San Marino and Corfu.

19:00 – The big parade of all the teams of Giostra 2019
